Carving Pumpkins

Of course the girls wanted to carve pumpkins, they have wanted to for a month. So we went out into the warm sun and got our hands messy. Then we had to wait and wait until dark so that we could light the candles. It was pretty exciting to finally get to carve and light the spooky jacks.

We don't know what to do with the seeds and guts because we have cows in the pumpkin patch, usually we just dump them right back into the patch to reseed for next year but I am afraid the cows will eat them. I could save the seeds until next summer or we will probably toss them into the field and hope for vines next year. We are excited the cows are here because they will eat the weeds along the fence.

What a fun filled Halloween season this year. Now it's clean up and head into November.
Hope you got lots of candy.
